Dr. Richard Weinman is a professor of media communication in the Department of Speech Communication at Oregon State University. His principal areas of teaching and professional activity are the social/cultural influence of mass media, programming, and the creative media arts of producing, writing, and performance. He practices what he professes, teaching courses over the Internet and using the WWW for research and course materials. His virtual interactions with his students adhere to the title of this article: teaching and learning occur “anytime, anywhere.”

Dr. Weinman received a B.A. in Speech and Theatre Arts from Indiana University, a Master of Fine Arts from Columbia University in Dramatic Arts, and a Ph.D. in Dramatic Literature and Criticism from Indiana University.
